One Day Initial Executive Health Visit - What to Expect

Welcome! Here is what an initial visit at PATH Medical looks like:

You arrive at our facility at 304 Park Avenue South 6th Floor (entrance on 23rd Street) and are greeted at the reception area where you are asked to sign in. You are then escorted to our Patient Liaison (Susan) for a brief orientation, and then to the suite where the you meet the Assistant Medical Director, who will coordinate the day's events.

We proceed to take blood and urine samples, as those tests are usually fasting tests (done on an empty stomach)

The second stage of the visit comprises of a discussion with one of our Physician's Assistant about your medical conditions, past medical and family history, as well as a brief social history (marital status, offspring, etc.) coupled with or followed by and ECG, PFT and Ultrasound tests. We test your heart, stomach, kidneys, spleen, carotid and transcranial arteries, thyroid, breasts (females), pelvis, prostate (males), and scrotum (males).

Lunch is next on the agenda. The Executive Health patient chooses from a selection of menus and we order in advance so the food arrives as testing is concluded.

After lunch, DEXA (bone density and body fat) testing is done, which is usually followed by the BEAM brain test and other psychological testing (/TOVA/Wechsler Memory Scale/CNS/VS). Next, vascular/circulation testing, including ankle­brachial index, digits, and maximum venous outflow/return time tests (for heart health) are performed. This is followed by a chiropractic/exercise consultation and a nutritional evaluation.

Near the conclusion of the visit, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors and/or with Dr. Braverman, followed by a CES/supplement review and a post-visit review/Q&A.

Some or all or of these phases may be completed during a second day, for those patients visiting us over multiple days. Second day testing may be conducted in locations other than the suite, including our patient treatment rooms.

*The BEAM, technician applies a conductivity gel to your scalp when applying the sensors, so do not schedule important meetings right after the test.
